Looking for a summer read? CAA Singapore invites you to an exclusive Q&A and book launch social with Singaporean author and Columbia MFA alum Jemimah Wei to discuss her much anticipated debut novel, The Original Daughter. The novel has been selected as a New York Times Editor's Pick and a Goodreads Readers’ Most Anticipated Books of 2025. The Original Daughter is set in working-class Singapore and portrays a complex relationship between two sisters over two decades.

Jemimah will discuss her journey towards a literary career, what it takes to write and publish an internationally recognized debut novel, and share more about the novel itself. She will also sign copies of The Original Daughter exclusively for attendees in a casual mixer and book signing after the Q&A portion. Attendees receive a 10% discount on book purchases at the event.
