The Columbia Alumni Association, together with HKUST, NTU, and others, held a policy discussion on "Brexit: Impact, Outlook, and Implications for ASEAN" last evening. The event saw over 40 participants join a lively debate on UK's decision to leave the EU, with heavy representation from Columbia alums! The three panel speakers - Andrew Staples (Chief Economist, Southeast Asia, Economist Corporate Network), Andrew Naylor (Chairman, Conservatives Abroad Singapore), and Dr. Yeo Lay Hwee (Director, European Union Centre, Singapore) - shared their deep insight and contrasting views on the future of both the UK and the international order after the referendum. After a spirited debate from the panel, the audience posed several questions that highlighted the alumni community's strong interest in this ongoing political question.
